YAHUKIMO - The Marines Task Forces of Infantry Battalion 6, under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, brought smiles and hope to the residents of Kuaserama Village, Dekai District, Papua Pegunungan Province, through the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. Held on Monday, January 20, 2025, the event exemplified the TNI’s commitment to addressing community welfare while fulfilling its security mission.
The MBG program, one of President Prabowo Subiyanto’s flagship initiatives, aims to ensure better nutrition for underserved communities. As part of this mission, the Marines Task Forces, led by Major Tirta from the PJPR Post, collaborated with Imanuel YPPGI Kindergarten in Kuaserama Village. The Soldiers distributed nutritious meals to students and teachers, symbolizing their dual role as protectors and providers.
Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, Commander of the Marines Task Forces, emphasized the importance of aligning military duties with community needs. “Our presence here goes beyond security. It’s about strengthening bonds and addressing fundamental needs like nutrition, which is vital for the future of Papua’s young generation, ” he stated.
The students and teachers at Imanuel YPPGI Kindergarten enthusiastically welcomed the Soldiers, who interacted with the children and offered words of encouragement while distributing meals. The event was not only a logistical success but also a moment of heartfelt connection.

One of the residents, Maria Tabuni, expressed her gratitude: “Thank you, Commander Marines. God bless you all. Your kindness means a lot to us.” This sentiment echoed throughout the village, showcasing the impact of the Soldiers’ compassionate approach.
Major General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, commended the initiative, recognizing it as a cornerstone in accelerating Papua’s development. “This program reflects the TNI’s unwavering dedication to supporting government initiatives. It’s a small yet powerful step towards fostering prosperity and growth, ” he remarked.
The Free Nutritious Meal program in Kuaserama Village not only addressed immediate nutritional needs but also strengthened trust and collaboration between the TNI and the local community. This harmonious partnership demonstrates how focused efforts in even the smallest villages can contribute to broader regional development and national unity.
