INTAN JAYA - A heartfelt effort to uplift the local economy unfolded in Yalai Village, Sugapa District, Papua Tengah, as the Task Forces of Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad conducted the "ROSITA" program (Buy up Farming Products) on Thursday, January 16, 2025. The initiative, led by First Lieutenant Wanianto from the Holomama Post under the HABEMA Operational Command, saw Soldiers purchasing farming products from the local residents to support their livelihoods.
This thoughtful endeavor aligns with the directive from Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, Commander of the 509 Task Forces, emphasizing the importance of assisting communities in need while executing the Soldiers’ primary mission of securing the region. Leveraging their daily operations, the Soldiers prioritized building economic resilience by purchasing produce directly from local farmers.
The program brought smiles and gratitude from the villagers, with Soldiers not only buying their goods but also fostering meaningful interactions. Using their own pocket money, the Soldiers purchased a variety of farm products, which were then used to prepare meals at the post. This simple act of kindness reinforced trust and goodwill between the Soldiers and the community. One of the sellers, Mrs. Ria Japugau, expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Commander 509. God bless."
Major General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA, lauded the initiative as a testament to TNI’s dedication to uplifting local communities. "The ROSITA program reflects the TNI's commitment to improving the welfare of the people and supporting the acceleration of development in Papua. It’s a shining example of how small actions can create significant impacts, " he stated.
The program not only strengthened the relationship between the Soldiers and the Yalai villagers but also symbolized the broader mission of TNI to ensure that progress and prosperity reach every corner of Papua. Through efforts like these, the HABEMA Task Forces continue to inspire hope and resilience in the communities they serve.
