NDUGA - The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 432/Waspada Setia Jaya Kostrad, one of the military units under The Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently conducting the mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Friday, 18 July 2024, the 432 Task Forces, especially the Mbuwa Post Patrol Team, conducted area security in the Arugia Village, Mbuwa District. During the patrol, the Team met a Papuan mother, Mama Lawiya Nimiangge.
When they met, Mama Lawiya conveyed her greetings and told her problems to the Patrol Team Commander, First Lieutenant Fahrizal. Daily, 1LT Fahrizal serves as Commander of the Mbuwa Post. At that time, Mama Lawiya said that one of her children, named Alex Nimiangge, was at home and had an injury to his hand. The wound appeared when Alex played with his friends a few days earlier.
Luckily, among the Patrol members, First Lieutenant Gede joined the patrol. On daily basis, 1LT Gede serves as the Health Officer of the 432 Task Forces. Seeing Alex's condition, 1LT Gede immediately examined and treated the infected wound on his hand. After the treatment, 1LT Gede handed over free medicine to Alex to be consumed over the next few days to heal his wounds.
The Patrol Team's actions in the Arugia Village have followed up on the emphasis of the 432 Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Zulfikar Akbar Helmi. LTC Zulfikar has emphasized the importance of the Task Force's attention to the basic necessities of the community in the assigned area. After the treatment was finished, Mama Lawiya expressed her gratitude by saying "Thank you, Bapak Tentara (Soldier), for treating my child. We are happy that the TNI is helping the people in Papua. God bless TNI."
"The initiative of the 432 Task Forces to provide treatment to a child in Arugia Village, is an effort by the TNI to provide basic necessities services, especially in the health sector, to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
